Expansion of the Chemiton 2K® Range: Focus on ATB, APB, and AXB
Franplast expands its Chemiton 2K® range for multi-component injection molding and co-extrusion. The new TPE-S series—ATB, APB, and AXB—are designed to create strong, durable bonds with engineering plastics while significantly optimizing production cycles.
Efficiency Without Pre-Drying
Moisture management is a common bottleneck in elastomer processing. Thanks to an advanced formulation, the ATB, APB, and AXB series do not require pre-drying. The advantages for processors include:
Zero waiting times: The material is ready for immediate processing.
Energy savings: No need for time- and cost-intensive drying ovens.
Superior quality: Reduced risk of visual defects, such as bubbles, caused by residual moisture.
Aesthetics and Hardness Ranges
The new series offer versatile visual options without sacrificing mechanical performance:
ATB and AXB: translucent finish, ideal for applications requiring partial transparency.
APB: milky-opaque appearance, perfect for ergonomic components with a high-end finish.
With hardnesses ranging from 35 to 95 Shore A, these materials guarantee excellent chemical adhesion to polar substrates such as PS, ABS, and styrene copolymers—completely primer-free.
